Saving for Summer Vacation

As school draws to a close, it is high time to start thinking about Saving For Summer Vacation. If you haven’t begun a Summer Vacation savings program yet, you still have time to put aside money to help pay for a great trip for your family.  A summer vacation doesn’t have to be a month long road trip. It can simply be a weekend getaway, or a few days of staycation with your loved ones, don’t feel pressured to break your budget by planning epic Summer vacations every year, for most people that’s just not possible. These Summer Vacation Savings tips and savings estimators, however, can help you find wiggle room in your budget and save money for a Summer Vacation that your family will enjoy.

Saving For Summer Vacation Tips

          Tip 1 -Downsize monthly expenses

This can be a great way to create savings for many families. If you already find you do this on a regular basis, then it may not help much. Don’t forget there is always time to evaluate and change things up a bit to make more room in your budget.

  • Brown bag lunches – Average savings $60.00/month
  • Skip date nights out – Average Savings $100/month
  • Don’t update your Spring/Summer wardrobe
  • Drop cable or satellite television – Average Savings $60.00/month
  • Evaluate insurance policies – Average Savings $20.00/month
  • Use Coupons or Menu Plan around Sales – Average Savings – $100.00/month

          Tip 2 -Save your change

Do you remember those large change jars from childhood? If so, go back to the old method of saving loose change. If you don’t use cash to make purchases, start rounding up your purchases to the next dollar when putting into your bank register. You will build a buffer into your account that can then be transferred into savings each month. See if your bank offers keep the change programs for added savings  – Potential Savings $20.00/month

Tip 3 -Have your paycheck direct deposited

If your paycheck is direct deposited, request that they set aside $25-$50 per pay period to automatically be put into your savings account. You can do this with your employer, or directly through your bank. Some credit unions even have Summer Vacation Clubs Savings programs which make saving for vacations easy.  This savings strategy will become a habit and you won’t think about the loss of money each week. This can quickly add up to a sizable vacation budget when you are saving for summer vacation. – Potential Savings – $500

Tip 4 – Change credit cards

If you are like me you put everything onto a credit card and pay off the balance each month.  That’s because ourcards give us benefits like cash back and travel rewards.  We rack up points towards free airline tickets, free hotel stays and even cash back.  You can easily pay for your entire Summer Vacation by simply changing your credit card provider or program.  – Potential savings $1000-$200

Tip 5 – Flash Sale Sites

Flash Sale sites like Groupon, Living Social and Travel Zoo offer fantastic discounts on travel to places your family actually wants to go to.  We’ve seen deep discounts on hotel rooms, All-inclusive resorts and even some theme park destinations like LegoLand and Great Wolf Lodge.  Your kids will love the Summer Vacation destinations and you will love the huge savings.  Decide early where you want to go and keep an eye peeled for when those destinations go on sale. – Potential Savings -$500-$1000

So how much could you save for Summer vacation implementing our 5 Summer Vacation Savings tips – Over $3,000! When it comes time to begin saving for summer vacation, you just have to set goals and stick with them. Sometimes those goals will be small, but being realistic is a big part of your success in everything. Understand what you can manage, then make it happen to provide your family with a great summer vacation this year.

Great ideas! If we really want to be able to go on vacation, we have to give up some smaller things to “get the prize”. We aren’t naturally good at giving up our little luxuries, but we have to remember what we will be getting in return.

@georgeteh3 put his heart and soul into this proje @georgeteh3 put his heart and soul into this project piece for @arteh_creations ❤️ He’s learning new things throughout the furniture design and building process. And figuring it out along the way (all without formal training, education or experience in the trade - learned it from YouTube lol).

He created functional art from this very, very, very delicate 1950’s gossip chair 🪑 that we got for free through FBMP. It was in pretty bad shape, and I was unsure of how he would do it or what he planned to do. But I’ve always loved how creative his visions and ideas are with pieces he finds, and I knew he’d come up with something amazing!

I’m so proud of how far my husband has come in all facets of his life. And it’s great to see his eyes lighting up again when he talks about building and creating furniture and art!

Hiiiiiii! I’ve been keeping a secret under embargo Hiiiiiii! I’ve been keeping a secret under embargo until the full announcement was released, and I’m thrilled to finally share! ✨

After much prayer, reflection, soul-searching, and a sprinkle of courage, I’ve taken a leap and joined the other side as a freelance Creative Consultant for The Allen Lewis Agency (@trytala)🚀

For over 12 years I’ve been captivated by the power of creativity, design, influence, and the art of storytelling. It’s been an incredible journey filled with learning, growth, and an unquenchable passion for all things content creation.💡And now I get to dive into a whole new world (to me, at least) of the agency side working behind the scenes in PR/Marketing/Communications and alongside my Influencer and Content Creator friends! 🌟

This new chapter represents not just a professional milestone, but a personal commitment to pursue what sets my heart on fire. I’m looking forward to working with incredible individuals like Jocelyn Coley and the roster of amazing, major brands. I’m excited to learn from each experience, but also grateful for some familiarity, as I’ve actually worked with a handful of the team throughout the years as an Influencer.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me! Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait to see where this new path leads. Also, to all my influencer frands — I hope you’re all excited and ready too, because I’ll be reaching out to you for future potential opportunities! Happy 1-Year Work Anniversary, @Collectors / @PSAc Happy 1-Year Work Anniversary, @Collectors / @PSAcard ! 🎉 Celebrated it on March 8th (but it was International Women’s Day). Also coming up on 10 years in Talent Acquisition/HR field.

Started in this space as a Contract Recruiting Coordinator (temp) scheduling interviews and setting up job fair booths (boy that was an adventure, let me tell ‘ya 🤣). And I very quickly worked my way up to becoming a Corporate Recruiter. I absolutely love what I do, and the impact we make to help better people’s lives through finding their dream careers. ❤️

Now I work for a company who helps people pursue their passions for collecting. My own family loves collecting high-value collectibles too.

I began collecting postage stamps at the age of 8. I remember getting grounded, because I racked up a $500 phone bill making calls to a New York stamp dealer talking all things stamps. And look at me now, Mom! 😂 I was an 80’s and 90’s kid…moved into @lisafrank stickers, @pokemon cards, Cabbage Patch Kids, video games and Beanie Babies. 😜 I’ve been asking my parents where those collectibles are, but they are still missing. 🙈

Now my children, husband and MIL have a wooden chest full of sports cards, Funko Pops, and memorabilia.

As you can see, finding an industry I love, doing the type of work that I do, is a dream and fulfills me. And the company perks are a huge plus. They’re an AMAZING company! 🙌

The collectible hoodie I’m wearing was custom designed by artist, Adam Lister, for Collectors employees! 😍 #findyourpurpose #findyourpath #findyourpassion #HR #recruiter #recruiterlife #corporateidentity #corporatemom #dreamjob #humanresources #talentacquisition #psacard #collectors #dowhatyoulovetodo #workanniversary
Working from home does have it’s perks! Beautiful Working from home does have it’s perks! Beautiful views, peace and quiet, can work in my bathrobe (and take it off to reveal my work appropriate attire during Zoom meetings 🤣). I was super cold here, since Cali’s amazing yet bipolar weather allows for zero usage of heat and air conditioning, but still needing things handy for warmth.
