We recently met with Dr. Truman of Truman Orthodontics here in Henderson and
wrapped up a very pleasant consultation experience for both Jude and Juliana!
My children have really been looking forward to correcting their smiles, because
they are conscious of their overbite and spacing issues with their teeth. It was also creating issues when they ate and with their jaw.
George and I are both Invisalign users. I had Invisalign clear aligners for a year and George is currently going through Invisalign treatment. Invisalign treatment is the most advanced clear aligner system in the world, and it’s the exact reason both George and I chose to go with Invisalign for our orthodontic treatment. Only Invisalign treatment uses SmartTrack® material that straightens teeth with more predictability than other clear aligners*!

We completed paperwork for Jude and Juliana online so it saved us time during our consultation. When they called each one inside, the first thing Dr. Truman’s team did was take X-Rays.
Next, they captured images of their teeth using a professional DSLR camera.
Afterward, they brought us back to the Client Services representative where Dr.
Truman examined each child’s teeth and then provided his recommendation on
whether each child was eligible for .
And yay, both are eligible!
Once Dr. Truman completed his examination, each child was taken back to the
imaging room where the staff took 3D impressions of each child’s mouth (using an iTero® digital scanner) so that they can send it off to order the aligners. iTero digital scans are highly accurate digital impressions that eliminate the need for conventional impressions, which can be messy, taste unpleasant and can cause gagging.
The whole process for their consultation took about 45-minutes for each child.
We were able to address all of our questions during the consultation experience,
and learned more about the Invisalign First treatment and the way it works from Dr. Truman.
Since the kids still have their baby teeth, our first question was whether our
children were eligible for Invisalign First since they still have baby teeth.
During our consultation, we learned that as a child grows, their smile grows with them. Even with baby teeth, it may be the perfect time for children ages 6 to 10 to start orthodontic treatment for growing children with a mix of baby and permanent teeth (known as Phase 1 treatment).
clear aligner treatment is expertly designed to fit smaller teeth with younger patients in need of Phase 1 treatment. It also has the ability to expand young arches to make room for existing teeth and for incoming permanent teeth.
Basically, how it moves your child’s teeth is from each set of Invisalign clear aligners shifting their teeth slightly, moving them horizontally, vertically and even rotating them when needed. The aligners are engineered to use the right amount of force in the right place at the right time.
Dr. Truman explained that our children’s lifestyle and hygiene routine of brushing and flossing won’t be interrupted since the aligners are removable! I’m loving this, because Jude is active in basketball and Juliana is active in Taekwondo, and they can keep enjoying their extracurricular activities (and their favorite foods) without orthodontic appliances holding them back. And with Invisalign treatment, we won’t have emergency appointments that are associated with metal braces, such as broken wires and brackets.
This really gave us parents more treatment options thanks to the Invisalign brand’s latest innovation–Invisalign First. Another benefit of Invisalign First clear aligners is they help prepare growing children’s mouths during Phase 1 treatment with the potential to make Phase 2 treatment shorter and easier (Phase 2 is what George and I have undergone).
I do trust and the fact that it works! With over 20 years of innovation and 6 million+ smiles,* Invisalign aligners have been able to treat simple to complex orthodontic cases! And I do feel this is truly the ideal teeth straightening solution for our little ones!

The cost of Invisalign treatment is often comparable to braces. Many dental
insurance plans cover Invisalign treatment just as they would other orthodontic
treatments, so be sure to check with your provider! And Invisalign’s website has an easy to use feature which will allow you to search for Invisalign- trained doctors in your area!
