“The View” is getting a huge shakeup before the next season starts, and now rumors are flying about who could end up on the show. Reports are already confirmed that Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy will be leaving the show. The have both admitted they are moving on to new things. Barbara Walters retired earlier this year as well. Jenny did tease that she will be moving on to do something where she doesn't have to talk over other people, but she hasn't shared what that will be yet.
Whoopi Goldberg is the only one confirmed to be sticking around next season. They will need to hire two or three new co-hosts to join her on the show. So far there are no confirmations on who it will be, but the rumors are flying and several people have admitted they would love the job. So who could be joining the cast? Here are three options that we just might see popping up:
Rosie O'Donnell: New reports show that Rosie is really close to signing a deal to be on “The View” next season. She is very opinionated and this platform is the perfect fit for her. Rosie was on the show back in 2007, but only for one season.
Sarah Palin: This former vice presidential candidate and current reality star has shared that she would be interested in doing the show if it was offered to her. She spoke out to The Hollywood Reporter saying, “I hear everyone recently got canned from The View, maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America's heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts. You know, someone willing to go rogue.” She would get people arguing on the show, that is for sure!
Andi Dorfman: Right now she is on television as “The Bachelorette,” but she recently quit her job as an assistant DA. New reports say that “The View” has plans to test her out and see if she would fit the show. She would not be the first girl to be “The Bachelorette” and then move on to television. Melissa Rycroft, Ali Fedotowsky, and Jillian Harris all got their start on this reality show.
A few other names (such as Diane Sawyer and Mario Cantone) have also been thrown around, and it would be interesting to have a man on the show, but we don't yet know for sure who it will be. ABC will announce the new co-hosts later this summer when they make their final decision. Until then, we'll just have to wait and see!
