Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. Tried other diets? It’s time for Jenny Craig!
I’m not sure about you, but I’ve noticed this strange pattern when it comes to seeing that weight loss is happening. First, your friends notice, then your family notices, and it isn’t until you see yourself in photos that you come to the realization that you’ve really, actually lost weight. Anyone else experience this? Anyone??? I don’t really look at the scale other than my weekly weigh-ins with my Jenny Craig consultant. And when I look at myself in the mirror, I don’t notice a thing has changed (whether good or bad). But this time around, I cannot deny that what I’ve been doing is working!!!
One month into the Jenny Craig program and I’ve already received tons of compliments from friends and family in-person who have noticed a significant change to my weight loss – from inches lost and my clothes fitting better, they’re all shocked with how slim I’ve gotten! Mind you, it’s been three years since I’ve been at my most fit and my lowest in weight, so I could see why people were surprised to see me slimming down. What’s funny is that most of my offline friends and family did not know I was on the Jenny Craig program, and were intrigued by the change.
To be honest with you, I’ve only been able to hit the gym once or twice each week due to the demands of my travel schedule as a blogger (and there was one week I was not able to make it to the gym at all). It is part of my weight loss goal to incorporate exercise three or more times each week. It’s good for my muscles and for my mental well-being, and my Jenny Craig consultant highly encourages it with this program too. But exercise alone will not give me the full results I’ve been wanting.
It reminds me of my personal trainer friend who had a boot camp I attended each week. I was asked to log my food into MyFitnessPal and whenever she would check on it, she would explain that the reason I wasn’t losing weight was because it was 100% of the food I ate. Abs are truly made in the kitchen! My mind was blown – I had been seeing things with the wrong perspective for many, many years. But even with my new found perspective, I still wasn’t losing weight.
My biggest challenge was figuring out HOW to eat the right foods. I’m 35 years old and I’ve been doing it wrong all this time, and I honestly had no clue what was right (or wrong) for me to eat. I tried portioning my foods but could not figure out the right balance of it all. And eating several times a day sounded daunting, because I had the worst habit of skipping breakfast in the mornings and then overeating at lunch…and dinner…and then having late night snacks. Oh boy.
When I started the Jenny Craig program, it was like my mind flipped a switch and I was immediately able to adjust to the new eating and food habits. That’s what I absolutely love about the Jenny Craig program, though. It helps people like me who have built up years and years of unhealthy eating habits into a new, healthier and more conscious eater.
The how-to was pretty much handed to me on a silver platter with the Jenny Craig program. All I had to do was follow the plan, eat the foods, and exercise and the inches and weight will start to melt off. I still had to purchase a few items like yogurt, fruits and salads but that part’s easy compared to creating, prepping, and cooking meal prep recipes that required several ingredients that I had to hunt for at the grocery store. This kind of program was exactly what I was looking for and exactly what I needed.
There were three different challenges I was facing before starting the Jenny Craig program:
1. Snacking
2. Sugars
3. Traveling
The snacking and the sugars went hand-in-hand often for me and it was always at the wrong time (late at night). But after a month into the Jenny Craig program, I realized that I had stopped snacking at night and don’t crave sugars anymore. My go-to snacks were chocolate and special coffees with sweetened condensed milk and sugar. And now, my mind literally does not care for either. My husband was shocked – I went from drinking a large Cappuccino three times each day to now drinking a couple of sips ONCE. A. WEEK. No more caffeine headaches either! I am SO happy! I do believe it’s because Jenny Craig’s meal plans offers a balance of everything – the healthy (and delicious!) Jenny Craig’s portioned food gave me what my body needed each day to fuel up. And eating five times each day totally keeps me from craving anything.
And you know what my biggest challenge of all has been the last six years of trying to stay slim and healthy? TRAVEL. That’s been my kryptonite with weight loss. I’d be so consistent with my workouts, with meal prepping, and logging my food at home. But the moment I step foot into an airport, I would panic about not having enough food to eat and then overbuy junk food at the airport store or order room service when I arrive at the hotel or stop by a fast food place in between locations because of my limited time.
I told my Jenny Craig consultant about this and when I had to travel recently to attend the Mom 2.0 Summit in Orlando, we put together a customized meal plan for the week to incorporate foods from their travel menu. Whaaaaat?! There’s a travel menu?! YES, there’s a travel menu! I brought three days worth of foods with me that can be stored at room temperature and asked the hotel to bring in a microwave, and voila, I was able to stick to the Jenny Craig program and eat the right foods all while traveling!
I rave about the meal plans and meals, but having my dedicated consultant by my side has played a major factor into keeping motivated and inspired to lose the weight. My consultant really listens to me and also gives me solutions to my challenges. Realistic, attainable solutions towards my weight loss goals. She also cheers with me when I’ve lost weight, and encourages me by reminding me of all the reasons I joined this program.
One month into the Jenny Craig program and it’s changed my life! I have more energy, more focus, I feel lighter and healthier, and the results are visible to me and others who know me. I am so extremely happy with the way things are going!!!

June 8, 2017 at 1:19 AMI have read and heard a lot of positive comments about the Jenny Craig diet. I am currently at my ideal weight right now, but I will let my daughter know about this. She still needs to shed that post pregnancy weight she put on. Thanks for this informative article.

June 13, 2017 at 3:10 PMI am an older heavier senior who would love to lose weight but a serious back injury prevents me from doing anything other than walking. I have always been sceptical about all the diets out there, but your complete description and analysis has made me reconsider. I will probably look into this and hope for your amazing results
