When I picked up Maheen Burgos from the airport, I can recall looking at her sweet and kind face smiling from ear to ear. She was even gracious enough to be my voiceover GPS while I drove. I learned all about her past career as a teacher, her love for adventure, and her passion for serving. Maheen is selfless and with zero time for self-care, she was seeking help for change. After reading Maheen’s story, the Influencer Panel knew she needed the Dream Team to save the day! Check out Maheen’s interview and her amazing before/after transformation below and watch our series premiere of Total Mom Makeover!

Maheen Burgos
Carrollton, Texas
Daisy: Do you have any children? If yes, how many children do you have and what are their ages?
Maheen: Two children ages 5 and 23 months.
Daisy: What are your favorite hobbies and/or types of community service you serve in?
Maheen: I love “experiences.” Anything adventurous with my family that can be attached to a memory is what I love. I wish I had more time to do it. From segway tours, going to the zoo/park, painting with a twist, horseback riding, four wheeling, playing in the rain, jet skiing, etc. I regularly serve as a volunteer with the North Texas Food Bank and Children’s Hospital. I also partake in annual diabetes awareness walks with my company. I work in wound care, which is a daily service to humanity, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Daisy: Walk us through what your mornings look like getting everyone ready for the day:
Maheen: I wake up at 4:30 a.m. M-F. This is the only “me time” I really get. I go to Camp Gladiator Boot Camp outdoors and do burpees, bear crawls, and what have you to try and maintain this sexy flabby mom figure. I’m crazy. I know. I get done and come home and shower/get ready while everyone is still asleep. I pack my 5 year old and husbands’ (aka my 3rd child’s) lunch. I make breakfast and THEN I wake up the kids. I brush their teeth, get them dressed and fed. Hubby or I take the 5 year old to school, depending on who has a lighter workload. The little one stays home with the nanny and I’m off for a full-day of work 8-5. I’m exhausted typing this LOL.
Daisy: How do you typically style your hair on a normal day?
Maheen: Unfortunately after delivering my second child, I lost all of my hair due to an auto-immune disease. Eyelashes and brows included. So I have to wear a wig daily. This consists of washing it and air-drying it the night before. I wear it down or in a low pony-tail to try and not look so obvious. I am not talented enough to “style” it and give it a different look.
Daisy: When was the last time you received a haircut from a salon professional?
Maheen: Over 2+ years ago
Daisy: How do you typically apply makeup on a normal day?
Maheen: I apply foundation (some brand that the lady at Sephora swore by). I put it on a brush labeled “foundation brush” and paint my face. I make a fish face and swab some blush on. I pretend I know what I am doing and use brown eye shadow to draw on my brows. I put some Burts Bee’s Tinted chap stick on and that is a wrap.
Daisy: How much time do you think you need each morning to get yourself ready?
Maheen: 30 minutes
Daisy: When was the last time you made time for yourself?
Maheen: If I remembered, I would be lying. Outside of working out at 5am, I can’t remember when I had a day to myself. Or even an afternoon….
Daisy: What do you feel needs improvement with your current style and look?
Maheen: That’s the problem. I don’t have a style or look. I wish I did. I just don’t know what’s trendy and how to pull looks together, or even what looks good for my figure (or lack thereof). I wear scrubs to work, which are very “giving.” Weekends are usually spent wearing work out clothes. Every now and then I get crazy and will put on some jeans and a button down flannel and flip flops to go out. Sad. Just sad LOL. I’m the typical “mom” look on weekends. No makeup. Bags under eyes. Wig off. Beanie on. BOOM.
