The Unconventional “#SlowCookerSunday Cookbook” – A Slower Cooker Cookbook

The very first unconventional cookbook that came into my hands was T-Mobile's CEO founder, John Legere’s #SlowCookerSunday Cookbook.

The Unconventional “#SlowCookerSunday Cookbook” – A Slower Cooker Cookbook

From the moment you read the Foreword by the legendary Martha Stewart, you already know this cookbook is going to be a lot of fun! She says, “We are also reminded that John takes chances. For heaven's sake, he hired Snoop Dogg and me to star in a Super Bowl commercial for T-Mobile.” Too funny!

#SlowCookerSunday – Leadership, Life and Slow Cooking with CEO and Chef, John Legere, is now available on and in T-Mobile stores nationwide. The book includes 52 of Legere’s favorite recipes, mixed with his advice to take from the office to the kitchen. Legere also takes readers behind the scenes of his popular SCS cooking show and gives them a small glimpse into his personal life. And, because Legere and the Un-carrier are committed to giving back and creating a future that’s brighter for everyone, net proceeds from the sales of the book will go to Feeding America to support its mission to feed America’s hungry.

Most of you know that I love makeup, makeovers, and playing dress up. Cooking, though, is NOT my forte. I rely heavily on following recipes carefully, and I prefer easy recipes that I can throw together in a slow cooker. Slow cookers are the best for busy families who want to enjoy a home cooked meal, right?!

I do believe it's best to eat at home together with your family, because I value quality time with my husband and children. It’s a time where we all come together to bond over a great meal. And Sunday's are the most important family dinner nights, because it's where we reflect on the weekend and prepare for the coming week. We discuss our schedules and plans from Monday through Friday and make sure nothing slips through the cracks. And the kids know that Sunday nights are made for us to align together.

In the “#SlowCookerSunday Cookbook”, John Legere weaves in some great leadership advice that inspires me to be a better leader in my everday life and in my business.

One of my favorite quotes was, “Shake up the status quo in the office” in which he shared the conventional ways wireless carriers did business back in the days (limited data, limited minutes, and data messaging) and how becoming and Un-carrier meant becoming the opposite of all of those ways.

To me, disrupting the status quo is similar to our “Vow to stand out.” tagline. And for us, that meant taking big risks and making out of the box changes to set us apart from all the other conventional methods.

And my favorite quote of all: “Stand for something and don't be a chicken” in which he shared about taking on a cause as a leader and craft that into your manifesto to give it a voice to your car. When you have purpose and goals, you will become unstoppable. I truly believe in standing up for your cause, because I've experienced it in my life. Moms all too often lose sight of who they (we) are when we become selfless to serving the needs of others. As a mom, my cause is to help other moms out there stand out and be confident in themselves again.

And the recipes in the cookbook are SO yummy! We decided to try out the Great Chili Meatloaf recipe and it was delicious!

I highly encourage those of you who want to stand out from the crowd and be your un-conventional selves to buy this cookbook on! Not only does your soul get fed with all the thought provoking stories and bites of wisdom, your belly gets fed too!
