*UPDATE 08.31.13: It looks like we will be renewing our vows destination wedding style at the end of 2014. We are so ecstatic – we’ve already picked out our wedding colors too (see photo above). We’re in search of the perfect tropical location so stay tuned for more details! Please leave us a comment if you have any ideas or suggestions for location, venues, things to do, etc. We could use all the help we can!

OUR STORY: 03.10.2012

If you haven’t already heard the news – I got engaged on Saturday (03.10.12)! What was so significant about this engagement was that we are already married! We have been married for over four years now, however, we did not have a proposal, engagement, or dream wedding. We were just two people in love, and wanting to be married under the covenant of God. We were living during hard times when we first got married and raising 4 little ones drains your finances! We experienced a miracle and I ended up winning a #ShareYourStory contest from Hearts On Fire 5-years ago and my prize was a stunning engagement ring that led to my husband’s RE-proposal.

Four years and four children later – I found myself standing on the Santa Monica Beach during sunset with my husband fulfilling his promise to me on one knee asking me to “Re-Marry” him, and a stunning engagement ring on my finger!

We promised each other that we would make each other’s dreams come true, even if it meant doing things out of order. I have the most amazing husband in the world! Shortly after we announced our “Re-Engagement” I received tons of messages from all of our readers on how they too did not do things in order, and shared similar stories of their dreams to one day get that dream proposal and renew their vows. I encourage you to continue to reach for those dreams and goals (even if it has been years, and even if it seems like it will never happen)! It is never too late to make another’s dreams come true, and I have had the opportunity to testify this time and time again. I was a teen mom doomed for failure, remember? But through my faith and confident expectancy in knowing that God is too wise to make a mistake, and too loving to be unkind — I know that He always wants what is best for me and my family. And mediocrity is not God’s best!

So what’s next dream for the The ‘It’ Couple? We would love to renew our vows on the beach! It will probably be a year or more before we do it — but it’s never late than never! There is a quote I heard in the Kung Fu Panda 2 Movie that I will never forget (and not because my children watch it over and over again), but because it is so significant in my life (and apparently many other reader’s lives): “Your story may not have such a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story – who you choose to be.”
