They say it’s important to make a good first impression. Visual presentation catches our immediate attention including the food and beverages we consume. It shows how much detail and quality is put into what we are served, making them more appealing and enticing to eat. From the plates and glassware to the utensils and napkins – they all play an important role in our food’s visual appeal.
Being a foodie is a sort of sensuous experience. It’s not about eating, it’s about the experience of how it smells, how it looks, and how it tastes that matters. The visual presentation of food is important and nobody gets this concept more than a parent! Kids are the pickiest of eaters, and if it doesn’t have a fun design they complain about it. And grown-ups are no different. It may be the best tasting meal, but if the food arrives to you on a dirty dish, I bet you will probably have lost your desire to devour that meal.
Define: food presentation
“Food presentation is the art of modifying, processing, arranging, or decorating food to enhance its aesthetic appeal.”
There’s an art to food presentation that created job titles like “food stylists” who creatively and thoughtfully arrange plate presentations to please the senses. The ultimate goal: to tempt our eyes and make foodies like myself want a taste! If you have an upcoming dinner party or are entertaining guests in your home, I challenge you to aesthetically arrange your food for the occasion.
My recent obsession is my stemless glassware from Luigi Bormoli. It serves me multiple purposes on occasions when I want to dress things up for my guests and their food presentation. Rather than just filling my glass with a beverage, I used my Luigi Bormioli Stemless Glassware to create my favorite healthy dessert – a Strawberry Banana Yogurt Parfait for my fitness conscious guests. This is a perfect example of how a beautiful, sparkly and clear stemless glass can totally transform the appearance of a simple dessert recipe that required little effort to create. Wow! Look how vibrant the colors of the fruit stand out through the glassware – gorgeous, right?!
Luigi Bormioli is a company committed to the design and technology of beautiful glassware. Since 1946 in Italy, Luigi Bormioli has been creating artwork of elegance with glassware that is of great quality. They aim to provide beautiful products that consumers can use and enjoy with others.
