Saving Money, Time and Sanity

Save save save. That is literally what I should have written down for my New Year’s resolutions. My goals this year are all about saving and no, I’m not just talking about money. I’m talking about yes, saving money, but also about saving time and maybe most of all, saving my sanity.

Somewhere between our work schedules, the kids’ schedules, keeping up on the household chores and everything in between we somehow have to fit in grocery shopping and planning for grocery shopping. How is this even possible?! It really is no wonder that most of us go over our budget when it comes to our grocery bill. Sitting down and planning out a grocery list which includes saving money and matching sales to coupons is exhausting and time consuming. Just heading into the store and buying groceries is much easier, therefore many people don’t even try to save. I don’t want to be one of those people!

That’s why I am partnering up with Flipp to see just how much time I could save while planning my grocery list and still saving money. Have you checked out Flipp at all by the way? When you are in the grocery store, the app can even sort your shopping list items by aisle depending upon which store you’re in, to make your trip to the store even quicker and easier. Flipp users have saved up to 70% on items bought after finding the best deal on Flipp. I know that in my first week of using it, I saved over $40!

It is so easy ya’ll! Like seriously easy. You don’t have to spend hours clipping coupons that you will likely never use. Flipp makes it easy for you to virtually find great deals, clip your relevant coupons as well as add the items that you actually want to your shopping list. Then just head to the grocery store, phone and app in hand! I used to forget my shopping list at home all the time, but rarely forget my phone at home. Problem solved!

Here are some of my favorite things about Flipp:

No more piles of newspapers! I hate hate hate going through all of the weekly ads in search of deals on the things that I need. I hate the clutter that the ads create and frankly, it just gets so exhausting and monotonous. With Flipp, you just open up the ads for the stores you are interested in. There is even a search button so that you can look for specific deals!

The Discount Slider. If you refuse to spend more than a certain percentage (say 50%) for an item, you can use the discount slider at the bottom of the screen (look for the percentage sign) and adjust it to easily find the deepest discounts.

Family Sync. I LOVE this new feature!! If my husband is going to be closer to one of the stores than I am, we can sync up so that he can do that portion of the shopping, and that way we never double up on things.
