It’s the most…baking time of the year! What are your favorites when it comes to baking or cooking for the holidays? For me, it’s chococlate chips cookies, brownies and the most famous in our household – pecan tarts! I learned how to create these pecan tarts as a child during our family gatherings for the holiday and it’s become something very special to us. So not only is it delicious, it’s tradition.
For the most part, it’s been easy to make theses tarts although it does take some time. Now I’ll admit, there have been occcasions where the process of baking them have gone wrong. Not terribly wrong, but not to the standards which the family pecan tarts deserve. And it wasn’t like we didn’t have the right ingredients or failed to follow the recipe correctly, we just had an inconsistent baking situation going on with our oven. It was either the heat was too high on the bottom oven, while the top oven just never seemed to not be hot enough, it we placed the pan on the wrong rack and the heat just wasn’t getting to it evenly.
