Noodles & Company – A Naturally Good, New Family Favorite

I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about a new restaurant. Last week my family and I went to California and ate at Noodles & Company World Kitchen at Downey Landing, a beautiful new shopping center in the city of Downey, CA – the food was amazing! Our family loves going out to eat at all types of restaurants, and we do so very often. So, for us to rave about a new place really means a lot. Where do I begin? Aside from the food being so delicious, the quality and ingredients were also “guilt-free”, which is a very big deal nowadays! So let’s start with that.

When I say “guilt-free”, I’m not just saying the food wasn’t greasy or everything we ate was green, I’m saying all the ingredients were fresh and healthy. Real food, real cooking and real flavors equal REAL good food! Who would have thought that dishes not containing any artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or preservatives could be so satisfying, even for kids! At Noodles & Company, dishes are made fresh to order every time; with 14 fresh vegetables (not frozen); cage-free eggs; organic milk, tofu and tea; and naturally raised steak, pork, bacon and meatballs. All of these are cooked in an open kitchen and served by such a friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The menu has a great variety of choices for the whole family. Some of the most popular dishes in the world are offered on the menu and I was so amazed at how many of my favorite types of noodles and pastas could be made different but taste just as good, if not better. The vision at Noodles & Company is not to only focus one type of dish from a specific part of the world, but to bring together the best of the best. So whatever type of noodle or pasta and flavor you are craving, they will most likely have it – no need to buy a plane ticket!

I brought along my husband, kids, sister and mom to try a variety of dishes and none of us were disappointed. I had the Penne Rosa with parmesan-crusted chicken with just a hint of spice. Another cool thing about Noodles & Company is that they are willing to customize every order to make sure their customers enjoy what they have. My husband had the Steak Stroganoff and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since! Other dishes we tried were the Chicken Vera Cruz Salad, Spaghetti & Meatballs, kids had the Mac & Cheese (it’s unavoidable) and we even had a chance to try out one of their newest items on the menu, the Spicy Korean Beef Noodles. We loved them all, and that Spicy Korean Beef Noodles will definitely be part of my order when I come back.
