Supplies:

  • 3 8″x10″ photo frames from the dollar store (remove glass and backing)
  • 3 burlap canvases to fit the frames (I purchased a package of 3 for less than $5)
  • hot glue and glue gun
  • fabric glue
  • buttons (approximately 125-150 in various sizes)

Letter stencils are helpful but not necessary.

Instructions:

To make this great Kitchen Wall Decor, you’ll start by tracing or outlining the letters onto your burlap canvas pieces.  I used a 3″ letter stencil which I thought was an ideal size.

After you’ve stenciled the letters onto the canvas, you will want to lay out the buttons to determine the best placement to create each letter.  After you’ve decided how the buttons will be laid out, cover the area with fabric glue and press buttons firmly into glue.  Allow glue to completely dry.  Repeat with each letter.

After the glue has completely dried, glue each canvas into the photo frames using hot glue.  Make sure that the canvas is centered in the frame and secure.  Allow glue to completely dry before hanging your Kitchen Wall Decor.

This is a simple project that will cost less than $10 to make and will look great in your kitchen.  You could use any color frame or buttons to match your decor or even cover cardboard with a fun fabric rather than using the burlap canvas.
