How To Be The ‘It’ Mom: 3 Steps You Can Do NOW To Conquer The Balancing Act of Life!

If you are anything like me, you often find yourself juggling many different projects, meetings, and activities that you hope you could fit all in twenty four hours. I hope I am not the only person who goes through “balancing burn-out” and found in the corner rocking back and forth in the fetal position? If you are caught between trying to be a super-mom while also working hard to get that promotion at work, there is hope in finding that happy balance between the two. The ‘It’ Mom can manage to juggle it all, while still turning heads when she steps into any room. You may look at yourself in the mirror and wonder how you let yourself go, and feel like you will never lose that excess weight because you don’t have time to work in 45-minutes at the gym three times each week. You are not a lost cause, and you CAN manage your time better! We all have a million and one things to do, and me suggesting to add several extra steps to your already growing To-Do list completely defeats the purpose of finding a way to balance your life, right?

I want to make this simple and attainable enough for you to stop wondering HOW and follow through with getting your life and sanity back into perspective. Here are three (3) easy steps that you can begin to implement now that will help you defeat and conquer that unbalanced scale in your life!

FIRST STEP:

Stop and reflect. You are probably thinking I am crazy for telling you to stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and relax, but you have two choices: either get burned out or be burned. When you are constantly running in circles without a plan put into place, you miss out on the opportunities that really matter most in your life. If you do not take the time to realize what is truly important in your life, you will regret not taking this very first step. Do not mistake being busy for being productive. Get a journal and pen, sit down in a quiet place and reflect on life, reflect on your blessings, and reflect on your experiences. Write it all down, because when you feel that panic attack coming on, you can pull that journal out and remember where you came from. Ask yourself these three questions:

1. Who am I doing this for? For yourself? For your family? For God? Determine who you are doing this for to create a foundation for your life.

2. Where am I heading? Do I need to change paths? Am I on the right track? If you are not where you need to be, then you need to make some changes in your life.

3. What action items am I going to take to get there? Think of these as goals that you can create for yourself that will help you get out of your old way of thinking. Just think of 2 or 3 action items – if you overwhelm yourself with a long bucket list, you will end up discouraging yourself and going back to the drawing board.

SECOND STEP:

Create a To-Do list that categorizes tasks, action items, and priorities. Now you can balance it all with The ‘It’-Mom’s FREE To-Do List! This list is a powerful tool I use with the family on a DAILY basis! It’s easy to read, easy to follow, and provides you with insight to see Priority Action Items and Future Action Items. With 4-kids, a full-time corporate recruiting career, managing this high traffic blog, working out 4-times each week, serving God each week, AND having a sit-down dinner with the kiddies every night — I completely understand how frazzled and burned out we can easily get.  This list has kept me sane and up-to-date with life and I am giving you my cheat sheet for managing time and balancing it all for FREE: Access TheItMom.com’s To-Do List NOW

THIRD STEP:

Take action. I know, I know – it isn’t the epiphany that you have been waiting to hear that is the answer to all of life’s problems. But without action and without follow-through, all of these efforts are useless. The most difficult step we make as humans is the first step! If you are determined to manage your time and balance everything out in your life, you have to be willing to get there.

Move on and get going, because you have got a wonderful, extraordinary life to live! The sooner you can balance it out, the happier you and your family will be.
