Holiday Monster Cookies Recipe

Making cookies with my kids is one of those holiday memories that I hope they’ll have forever.  We have fun, make a mess, and end up with some yummy cookies – what could be better than that!? These Holiday Monster Cookies are perfect for making with kids.  Younger kids will love helping to measure out the oats and the M&M’s and older kids can mix and help shape the cookies.

I am not totally sure, but I think they are called monster cookies because they have a little bit of everything in them.  They are not peanut butter cookies, not oatmeal cookies, and not chocolate chip cookies – but they have all of those things in them!  Whatever the reasoning behind the name, these Holiday Monster Cookies are a winner in my book.

Drop by large tablespoon onto a cookie sheet and gently press down into a more rounded shape. Press some of your extra M&M’s into the top of the cookie dough.

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cookies will turn golden brown. Try not to over bake, because they are even better if they are a little bit under cooked and not crunchy.

*Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies. Store in an airtight container 1-2 weeks. These cookies also freeze well.
