I recently had the privilege of being able to attend Kia Motor's 2014 National Press Introduction in Scottsdale, AZ. What an awesome experience! We were introduced to and were given the opportunity to test-drive the 2014 Kia Sorento and Kia Forte, both amazing cars. Kia has definitely stepped up their game by making significant improvements to their style and performance. Not only has Kia done major research and design to create a more elegant and sophisticated look, they’ve made sure to consider and value their consumer’s needs and wants in performance, without compromising the safety of the families and individuals who purchase their vehicles.
The 2014 Kia Sorento, a redesigned compact Crossover Utility Vehicle, was the first vehicle we got to test-drive. The “facelift” of the body was very impressive. This CUV was given a wider body and a lower ride, so that it looks sleek front to back, I personally loved the new look of the front grill. The interior design provided comfort and space, speaking from experience as the driver and passenger. Other features that were not forgotten are LED lights in the front and tail lights, redesigned larger wheels, noise reduction of the interior, improved steering through suspension and ride vibrations which all contributed to the smooth ride. Also, one of the most important improvements, in my opinion, is its gas efficient 3.3 liter V6 engine that gives a 290 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. Models are available in LX, EX, SX and SX limited.
The 2014 Kia Forte also has much to boast about. A ride with the looks and feel of a sports car, but still maintains all the benefits of a sedan. Designed with an image of speed and sophistication, this has become one of my most desired cars to have. It had 17-inch wheels, LED lights front and tail, a low profile and a lower nose than its previous style. Not just its looks, however, but with its engine and performance considered, this vehicle holds value. The Forte is available with a choice of two four-cylinder gasoline engines, an LX, which has a 1.8-liter unit making 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet of torque, and an EX, which has a 2.0-liter that provides 173 horsepower and 153 pound-feet of torque. We were given a fully-loaded EX model to test-drive in the desert, so much fun! The comfort and feel was so nice, I could have driven all day. Also, the combination of steering, speed, interior space and interior features made me feel like I was in a very expensive car. As far as the interior space goes, I have no complaints. Leg room, mobility room and trunk space are all available for those who need it.
Last but not least, we were introduced UVO eServices, an amazing progress in technology. There is nothing this system does not provide, hence the commercial, “It has an answer for everything.” From emergency roadside assistance, to entertainment, and even reminders on car maintenance, this feature in itself is amazing. And, for those parents out there, it also has the ability to keep track of where your kids are, how far they’ve driven, and even how FAST!
Kia has not failed to impress. They definitely have proven why they have grown for many consecutive years and why they continue to grow. They are dedicated to their design and performance, and most of all to their customer's desires and needs when it comes to having the right vehicle.

One last thing, shout out to #KiaMotorsUSA for choosing Blake Griffin, he’s awesome!
