Using blue candy melts and snowflake sprinkles really gives this Puppy Chow treat the Frozen treatment, and the simple recipe is perfect to involve your kids in!
Frozen Inspired Puppy Chow/Muddy Buddies
6 C. Chex Mix Rice cereal
2 12 oz. packages of Wilton light blue candy melts (located in the Wilton section at craft stores and major retailers)
4-5 C. powdered sugar
Wilton white & blue snowflake sprinkles
Gallon size plastic bag
Pour the (2) package of light blue candy melts into a large microwave safe dish and heat in 30 second increments, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Set the melted chocolate aside and allow it to cool a few minutes before pouring over the cereal.
Pour the melted chocolate over the Chex mix and stir well completely coating (or just about) ALL the cereal pieces).
Pour the 4-5 cups of powdered sugar in a large gallon size Ziploc bag (a paper bag will work too).
Slowly pour the cereal into the bag, close and shake well to completely coat the chocolate covered cereal with powdered sugar.
Pour in the container of blue & white sprinkles.
Store in an airtight container up to 1 week – we like to keep ours in the fridge.
I’m curious; Do you call this snack Puppy Chow? Or Muddy Buddies? I go back and forth, I can’t decide! Whatever you call it, it’s super yummy and totally fun to make!
