The Disney Store Las Vegas debuted it’s grand opening of their new store at Fashion Show Mall on August 17th, and it was a morning of excitement, craze, amazement, and magical fun all rolled into one because that’s what Disney does to you! There were hundreds of people crowded behind the black velvet ropes at 9:30am to watch the opening ceremony with appearances by Mickey and Minnie!
“Disney Store brings the magic of Disney to life every day in Las Vegas,” said Jonathan Storey, vice president, Disney Store, “We’ve created an interactive shopping destination that offers engaging experiences for Disney fans of all ages to enjoy.”
In celebration of the new store opening, one lucky child from the local Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) chapter was able to “unlock imagination” and officially opened the Disney Store location at Fashion Show Mall. Disney store’s signature opening ceremony gave local children an opportunity to participate in an unforgettable Disney Store experience. It was unforgettable indeed and my kids had a blast!
The newly-designed shop features a castle, theater and 12-foot trees that act as backdrops for projected images. It will host story time, trivia events and an imagination parade, during which children can wear masks and parade around the store. To open the shop every morning, a child will be chosen to turn a giant lock – the “key to imagination.” The shop will employ 50 people full time and more during the holiday season. Disney also will create several Las Vegas-specific items to sell at the store as well. Be sure to pay close to attention to the detail – their wall murals were filled with Las Vegas landmarks that Las Vegas locals will truly appreciate!
Disney Store is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Disney is located on the Lower Level next to Macy’s Men’s.
