Parents! I have BIG NEWS! And I mean big! Cricket Wireless has officially announced my partnership as the Spokesperson for their Back To School “Go Positive” program and it kicks off today! Cricket wants to give a little positive reinforcement to schools and organizations across the country by giving away $15,000 through its new “Go Positive” contest.
Woohoo! The power of giving can do amazing things – and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to award $1,000 to fifteen (15) schools and community organizations that have activities, special events and other programs in place that encourage positive behavior. It really does pay to do good.
As an advocate for social good I understand what great things positive attitude and positive acts can do for anyone. And Cricket Wireless understands that earning a cellphone is a big milestone in any child’s life. It’s a privilege that that comes with big benefits and big responsibilities. And let's be real for a moment – recently, we’ve seen a lot of negative headlines about harassment, threats and other bad behavior during the school year. In 2015, 34 percent of middle school students said they were cyber-bullied at some point in their life. And the good news — I’ve seen lots of stories emerge recently about kids, schools and other organizations who are encouraging positivity among their peers and classmates too.
As a mother with children in high school and elementary school, I want to help empower change.
I'll be creating a video announcement on YouTube and posting full details later today, but in the meantime, here's an overview of the details in the Cricket Wireless press release today.
And here's a short YouTube video of yours-truly on the highlights of the Cricket Wireless Go Positive Contest:
We’re looking to award K-12 public or charter school in your community that operates and in-class or after school program that supports the following:

- Other activities that promote positivity
I’ll be announcing winners in October. Who knows, it count be you! Let's empower positive change together!
