TheItMom.com had a wonderful time experiencing the Mighty Fine movie premiere firsthand! It was a great experience watching the movie online with other groups of bloggers! The movie was pretty hard hitting when it comes to dysfunctional families, mental and physical abuse, and psychological factors that play a part in the way children are shaped into adults. I loved the movie, however, I wanted MORE! I honestly would have loved to experience a good 30-45 additional minutes of the process that Chazz Palminteri struggled with to get better from his mental illness. I would have also enjoyed seeing how the children turned out and received some kind of closure. The movie was so moving, so gripping, and so suspenseful that it left me wanting more of it!!!
The characters were well-known, well played characters. I honestly thought the portrayal was perfect. Andie McDowell and Chazz Palminteri are legends to the versatility of the variety of roles they have acted in so it does not come as a surprise when they consumed their role realistically. My ultimate favorite actor was Rainey Qualley. Her presence on the screen is total ‘It' girl quality – if she were to walk in a room in a movie she could certainly turn heads in person! I just love that type of mysterious, sexy, and yet very classy demeanor about Rainey (even though she was to play the teen in this movie).
I honestly could relate to this movie through my own personal experiences. The suspense, and the dramatization were so life-like and I enjoyed that they never attempted to sugar-coat or play roles based on what other people wanted to see. Very well played! I am absolutely amazed by the technological advances of being able to live chat with the actors of the film online afterward! I honestly thought it was such a great opportunity to be heard and seen by the cast of the movie without having the inconvenience of traveling somewhere.
