We've decided to get cooking in the Beano® “Be Natural” Virtual Cook-off and chose to create a super easy and nutritiously healthy green smoothie recipe that I've had the opportunity to experiment with while looking for delicious ways to eat clean. Don't let the Romaine Lettuce in the ingredients fool you, because you can't even taste it in this Butterfinger Green Monster Smoothie!

About the Beano® Be Natural Virtual Cook-Off Contest: During the Contest Period, I had to follow the guidelines below to create a recipe that includes all-natural, gas inducing ingredients, take a photo of my completed recipe and submit the recipe and photo to Beano®.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – Each recipe must contain:
• the name of your recipe
• a minimum of five (5) of the designated ingredients as indicated in blogger handbook;
• a list of the ingredients in exact U.S. measurements;
• required utensils and preparation timing;
• any/all special recipe instructions; and
• approximate number of servings.

With healthy foods comes — I'm just going to say it, GAS. I think one of the most frustrating moments of eating healthy is the gas I get afterward and sometimes that prevents me from wanting to bother with my veggies! But that's when Beano® steps in! I've used Beano® on several occasions when I know I'm eating something that would cause gas before it hits. As a blogger being out in public and often attending events, the last thing I need is an embarrassing gas moment, so Beano® is my sidekick while allowing me to enjoy nutritious meals (and smoothies).

What is Beano®?
Beano® contains a natural food enzyme that helps prevent gas before it starts. It works with your body's digestion to break down the complex carbohydrates in gassy foods, like fresh vegetables, whole grain breads and beans, making them more digestible. Beano® enables you to enjoy your favorite healthy foods, whether at home, in a restaurant or at a friend's house, without worrying about gas. Beano® is not a drug.
