Back in 2013, a local news station in Las Vegas did a back to school supply online shopping segment with me on buying your school supplies online on Amazon.com versus braving the chaos in the stores during the back-to-school season. I believe that teaming up with Amazon again this school season was a total no-brainer, because we BOTH know that back-to-school and online shopping go perfectly hand in hand together (like coffee with cream and sugar).
Times have certainly changed for the BETTER in the last five years, and my online buying tips still hold classic and true in today’s modern way of digital back-to-school shopping. And Amazon certainly has everything you should need to shop for you back-to-school list right from the comfort of your home (literally from A to Z, no pun intended!).
And I know how busy life can get, especially during demanding seasons like these – we rely on online shopping lists, digital calendars, and smartphones to help us get exactly what’s necessary. And I absolutely agree that these are non-negotiables…
However, I wanted to bring your attention to another shopping list that we most likely may have overlooked but should also consider as an unspoken non-negotiable when it comes to providing what’s necessary for our children’s overall back-to-school success: an active lifestyle and healthy well-being.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shared that regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence is important for promoting lifelong health and well-being and preventing various health conditions. The Health and Human Services (HHS) provided a national recommendation that children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years should have 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of physical activity each day.
As you prepare your children (and your whole family) for going back to school, I encourage you to include items from the list that I created for Amazon’s Back-to-School storefront of my favorite stylish health and wellness “supplies” for when they return back into the classrooms from a long summer of being away from the classroom. Our children's health and well-being is as important as the fundamentals of an education, right?!
And I’ve made it very, very easy by picking out products I know parents need but didn’t realize it until I created this list. You see, I did all of the legwork and the research; all you have to do is click and add to your shopping cart.
These are all products and ideas suggested to help parents encourage their children to think, live, act, and play their way into physical activity and mental stimulation.
Here are the products I like to call “The It Mom's Favorites” list. I chose these for Jude and Juliana (ages 9 and 10).
Below are select items, but you can check out my full list at amazon.com/backtoschool!
And I know that many of your children don’t technically go back to school for another month or two, however, Amazon Prime Day (and a half) is July 16th through July 17th for 36 hours of awesome savings. You know what they say, “The early bird catches the worm,” and in this situation, the early bird catches the DEAL!
