I wanted to share my journal of my firsthand experience of the events surrounding and the actual experience of my CoolSculpting treatment…
It’s Sunday afternoon, and our family just wrapped up lunch after church service. Today seems like a normal “day in the life of” for me, but I’m doing something very different this afternoon – something I’ve never done before! Today is the day I’m doing my first CoolSculpting treatment! With this being non-invasive and having no downtime, I’m feeling pretty good and super excited about the transformation to come.
I changed into more comfortable clothes, brought a couple of snacks, and packed up my iPhone and laptop to use during my treatment. We headed over to Illuminate Face & Body Bar from Henderson (it’s about a thirty minute drive and no traffic on this lazy Sunday). We pull up to the entrance and I was immediately greeted by Toni Ross’ warm and inviting smile. As my expert CoolSculpting consultant at Illuminate, I trust that I’m in good hands with Toni!
Toni already had the CoolSculpting machines set-up and we were ready to rock and roll! I love that she is well prepared and thorough. I change out of my clothes and into a gown and then Toni reiterated the treatment plan and areas of treatment. She then captured 360 degree photos of my body “before” the treatment…so exciting! I always love seeing a good before and after transformation transpiring! Afterward, she used a marker to mark all of the areas of treatment to make sure the CoolSculpting machine captures all the fat! Yes, please – FAT BE GONE!
Next up, she explained how she was going to apply the CoolSculpting treatment. I seriously appreciate that Illuminate Face & Body Bar has two machines in their Las Vegas location! Since my customized treatment plan was to treat all 6 areas in one visit, Toni was able to treat those multiple areas, reducing the time it would’ve taken if there was one machine. I also wanted to point out that not all facilities will have two machines and/or you may not necessarily need to use two machines, I’m only sharing my firsthand experience specifically at the Illuminate Face & Body Bar located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was pretty fascinating – during the CoolSculpting treatment, several non-invasive applicators were put on the areas Toni marked that would deliver precisely controlled cooling to the treatment area to specifically target underlying fat, leaving surface skin and other surrounding tissue unaffected. When fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, a process of natural removal is triggered, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer. When Toni applied the non-invasive applicators, she strategically did two separate areas (for example, she did one on the inner thigh and one on the bra fat area) to make the treatment time as comfortable as possible for me. After she applied the non-invasive applicators, I was able to lie down comfortably and she made sure I was all hooked up with my electronics and then activated the treatment on CoolSculpting machines.
The timer was set for thirty-five minutes and the first five minutes were like a “ramp-up” for the controlled cooling – at first, it felt like suction cups on my skin and then it would feel cold, colder, very cold, then tingling, and then numbness. That’s it! Imagine the feeling of your skin exposed outside in the snow during the winter season and the cold tingling sensation you get before it starts to feel numb – that’s how this felt.
And then just like that, thirty-five minutes was done and Toni removed the non-invasive applicators and proceeded to massage them with aloe vera gel for two minutes to help break up and kill the fat cells. Afterward, we completed two more thirty five minute rounds of two other areas at a time repeating the same process. During the treatment I was texting, Facebooking, tweeting, Snapchatting, playing games on my iPhone, and once in a while, in deep thought over life itself. My first treatment took a total of approximately two hours (and that’s including the applications, massages, and restroom breaks in-between). I did experience itching, swelling, numbness, redness and tenderness using CoolSculpting during the first few days after receiving the treatment. They were all expected and very slight in discomfort.
It’s been a few weeks since my first treatment and I’ve been really impressed with the results! I am scheduled to return for my final treatment plan in a few weeks and super happy with the progression of the inches I’ve lost and how smooth the areas are starting to look already. I’ve also been meal planning and monitoring my food and portions through a managed food program and incorporating exercise to continue my journey to a healthier me. The changes to my shape are apparent and have already received several compliments from my husband and friends too!
Here I am on my 36th birthday – slimmer, smoother and without the need for shapewear! This has boosted my confidence up more, and this is just the beginning! I cannot wait to see the full results after three months. And do you want to hear my praise report?
