9 Places You Can Find Halloween Costumes for Less

Halloween is right around the corner. Have you purchased your children's costumes yet? If not, you still have time, but you'll need to hurry. If the reason you've been waiting is because you've been trying to save up enough money, then you're in luck. Here are nine places you can find Halloween Costumes for less!

1. Thrift Stores

When people have leftover Halloween costumes lying around, what do they do with them when it's time to declutter? They donate them to stores like Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Head in to a thrift store with an open mind. You never know what you might find! Even if they don't have any costumes left in stock, their wide selection of unique and interesting clothing pretty much guarantees you'll find something!

2. Ebay

If you're looking for a greater selection, check out Ebay. Ebay has tons of Halloween costumes, even as the holiday approaches. Be sure to select a quick shipping option, and stick to costumes that will be easy to fit without trying on.

3. Craigslist

If you'd rather find a cheap Halloween costume locally, check out the Craigslist ads in your area. Your selection might be smaller, but you can often pick up your costume within a couple of days, if not the very same day.

4. Facebook Garage Sale Groups

Garage sale season may be pretty much over, but Facebook garage sales are still in full swing. Join a local group and check the listings or post your own. Chances are high that another mom in your area will have just the costume you are looking for!

5. Consignment Stores

For a gently used costume that is still on the nicer side, check the consignment stores and kids' resale shops in your area. This is another popular place for moms to bring kids' clothes they don't have a use for anymore, and you can often find some great costumes for less.

6. Sales Flyers

While Halloween specialty stores often have the highest prices, they can have the lowest prices too. This is because these stores will mark one or two items way down just to lure you into the store. Keep an eye on the flyers and head in just for that great deal.

7. Hand-me-downs

Do you still have costumes from an older sibling lying around? If so, use them again for your younger children who are just now growing into them. You don't even have to go to the store!

8. Your Friends and Family

Do you have friends or family with kids who are slightly older than yours? Ask if they may have any leftover Halloween costumes that you could borrow. Chances are, the mom will be more than happy for you to take an old costume off of her hands!

9. Your Own Closet

Lastly, if you cannot find a good costume somewhere else, make your own! Pinterest is full of fun and inexpensive Halloween costume ideas. With just a little creativity, you could easily have a costume that is unique, fun AND affordable!
