2012 Kia Optima HYBRID: Classy, Sleek, Modern, and Environmentally Friendly!

When I found out that I was chosen to test drive the new 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid, I was thrilled! After hearing that the Chief Designer of Audi had taken over the redesign of the new Kia line, I was pleasantly surprised to see such sleek and modern interior and exterior designs. Combine that with the Korean motor company's Hybrid engine, and it makes for some amazingly luxurious features and benefits!

Here are the features offered in the 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid Technology Package:

What were some of my favorite features? The Hybrid averaged 45 miles per gallon during my one week drive! That alone is a huge feature AND benefit – especially for a mommy of four! The laundry list could go on for miles!…

  • A keyless system that allows you to press a button to start a super quiet engine (so quiet that I literally had to turn it back on and off just to make sure the car was on!).
  • The rear camera display
  • Microsoft Infotainment System plays all of your songs on your playlist on your phone or MP3 and eliminates the need to plug into a car outlet!
  • The interactive visual design on the dashboard that gives you an overview of how your overall vehicle is performing
  • The ability to “command” your car to play a specific song or programmed station with the touch of a button on your steering wheel.

The list goes on and on, but those were particularly my favorites! I loved the type of material used on the upholstery too – even though it wasn't leather, it was a durable and comfortable meshy material that made cleaning kiddie spills easy to wipe and vacuum. I also fell in love with the smooth drive and how roomy the interior was (even with 4-5 of us in the car, it was so spacious).

If you're looking for an affordably and tastefully designed sedan that comes with a ton of great features – the 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid is definitely the way to go! The model I drove is priced at $27,500 MSRP and comes equipped with many great features already built in. There are packages and options you can choose from that can work based on the needs of your own personal lifestyle, but you'll find pretty quickly that the car already offers some great specs!
