Cadenza1

Just when you thought Kia was done bringing out the best, here comes another one! I tested the all-NEW 2014 Kia Cadenza and I will say it has raised the bar for my expectations from a sedan. The Cadenza is a great package and is one of the many advanced, well-designed, high performing vehicles added to the Kia collection. A beautiful, luxurious design with and great performance. This will be a car to look forward to in 2014 and a car that will be tough for competitors to out-do.

Body

I never expected the day would come when I would feel luxurious in a Kia, but it’s here. Its evident that there was much luxury-minded goals set in designing the body of the Cadenza. It’s a full-sized sedan (although is did not feel like it) with a sleek body and a confident presence. A well designed European influenced body with many detailed exterior features that adds to its elegance. From the broad powerful looking grill, to the streamlined body; from the doors, to the roof, the hood and all the way to the back end, the Cadenza is attractive with out a doubt.

Interior

If you think the outside is gorgeous, wait till you see the inside. Leather upholstery, streamlined interior design, spacious seating and headroom, and illuminated controls – you name it. Not only does the interior look sophisticated, it also provides a super comfortable drive. Also, one thing that really stood out for me was the cabin noise, or better yet, the lack of it. A quiet interior was the perfect match for the smooth ride. I have to commend the engineers for the way they’ve worked on the interior design and comfort of this vehicle.

Performance

The 2014 Kia Cadenza is a 3.3L V6 Engine, 6-speed automatic with 293 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. It took us from 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds, maybe less. The engine definitely has power, although it does not aim to be a sports car in any way. The responsiveness of the steering and handling on the road gave me total confidence in the Cadenzas capabilities. Sharp turns, imperfect roads, bump and dips were all a small task for this Kia.

EPA Mileage estimate 19 city/28 hwy depending on driving conditions.

Safety

And last but definitely not least, is the safety. The Cadenza has front, rear and full-side impact airbags. There is a rear camera for safety when backing up. Driving off the lane? There is also a feature that warns you during lane displacement and also a blind side warning to provided safety when switching lanes. Anti-lock Breaking System, Impact sensing door auto- unlock and side impact door beams doesn’t even cover all of the features the Cadenza has considered for safety.

Overall Review

A vehicle I would definitely recommend for those seeking luxury design, great performance, comfort and safety. The 2014 Kia Cadenza has all the features consumers look for with options of standard, premium and technology packages. Visit www.kia.com for more information and pricing on the 2014 Kia Cadenza.
